My Mother’s Tale

"My Mother’s Tale" tells the emotionally charged story of a woman who is abandoned by her husband and must struggle bravely to raise her three sons, overcoming life’s bitter challenges to find new meaning in life.

"My Mother’s Tale" follows the emotional rollercoaster of Zuhal’s life as she fights to protect her three sons in the face of betrayal, suffering and hardship. Abandoned by her husband Hasan, she must build a new life to pull her family through the pain towards healing and redemption.

Much of Zuhal’s life is overshadowed by Hasan, who achieves success in construction and hotel businesses and buys houses, but then loses everything through reckless financial decisions that lead to the family's downfall. After his betrayal, Zuhal is left to raise her children alone in an atmosphere of resentment and despair.

Zuhal had abandoned her career as a minister’s secretary, but as the family is plunged into hardship, she takes on the task of running a bread shop to make ends meet. Her pain is magnified by her sons’ feelings of abandonment and anger at Hasan’s betrayal, and she will need all her strength to overcome the family’s suffering.

"My Mother’s Tale" takes viewers on a moving journey into the lives of its characters revolving around Zuhal, a model of quiet strength for mothers everywhere.  Her and her sons experience misfortunes that they wish hadn’t happened, but as they grow, they will construct new meaning out of the suffering they experience.
